PPA PE & Upskilling
Pacesetter can offer tailored PPA sessions to Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key stage 2 pupils, bespoke to the schools’ needs. Pacesetter PPA PE programmes look to engage children in the highest quality PE lessons, using trained and reliable coaches. We can also upskill teachers in a variety of different sports. Our coaches can lead the session normally with either a teacher or TA present. We break down the session in the normal way; warm up, skill development, group activity and game. Part of the ‘upskilling process’ is for PE sessions plans to be given to the teacher, either after each session or as a pack at the end. We prefer to practice skills throughout the term, with a general tournament or house competition at the end of each term.
Pre-School & After-School Clubs
Pacesetter are able to offer wrap around core solutions to schools. Clubs include a range of Multi-Sports and sports such as Gymnastics, Dance and Yoga. Also, in a number of schools, we are now contracted to run breakfast clubs. There are options for parent-paying clubs, part-subsidised or fully funded by the school.
Lunchtime Clubs
We operate differing models during lunchtimes:
Change4Life Clubs
We set up various activities on the playground and engage with as many pupils as possible to make sure lunchtime is an active time which allows children to take part in activities that we facilitate. This is not a technical coaching session, more a drop-in session to work in line with lunch sittings. Some schools have specific year groups they want to target and therefore have registers. Common feedback from schools is that having more of a structured lunchtime significantly reduces instances of poor behaviour on the playground.
Specific Sessions
This option allows for a bit more flexibility – perhaps a session specific to Pupil Premium children, or a Gifted & Talented Club, a Fitness Club or alternatively a club that works with children requiring preparation for tournaments.
Fully Trained Staff
All of our coaching team are qualified to deliver coaching sessions, including the Intermediate Primary Gymnastics Award which is a qualification endorsed by British Gymnastics. Each member of staff is DBS checked, insured and has undertaken appropriate paediatric first aid, safeguarding and behaviour management training. We follow Safer Recruitment paractices by ensuring member of staff undertake Teacher Prohibition checks and sign Staff Disqualification Discolsure forms. They all receive a lot of internal training and observations too so are well drilled!
