PRIMARY SCHOOL MULTI SPORTS COACH

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The successful candidate will be joining Pacesetter at a very exciting time. We operate mainly in the primary education sector delivering services including sports coaching and wellbeing. The company currently works in over 50 primary schools and nurseries delivering close to 400 sessions each week. Our ethos is that sport and healthy living should be accessible by all. The role involves carrying out a weekly programme of multi-sports coaching sessions in primary schools throughout term time either as PPA/PE lessons, before-school clubs, lunchtime clubs, after school clubs and holiday clubs (within school holidays).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coaching up to 30 children per class in a controlled manner without supervision.
  • Coaching a range of sports, not just their specialised areas.
  • Planning progressive, thought provoking, technically correct sessions.
  • Keeping organised with registers and attendance.
  • Managing each session to ensure it runs smoothly.
  • Dealing with any disciplinary problems.
  • Networking with schools and building good relationships with parents.

CANDIDATE

  • Proven experience in a range of sports, able to pass on that knowledge in a mature, concise and professional manner to both pupils and teachers and when required, control and discipline a large class in line with school's behaviour policies.
  • Capable of communicating with and developing the skill levels of children, becoming someone that they look up to.
  • An organised individual who can manage their time effectively and efficiently.
  • Possess good relationship development skills for ongoing repeat business and relationships with colleagues.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The candidate will have experience in coaching Multi-Sports (Gymnastics desirable).
  • Comfortable with driving on a daily basis.
  • A health-conscious individual who prides themselves on their fitness.
  • A team player.
  • English language and phone manner are of a standard capable of communicating professionally with key decision makers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A* - C in GCSE English and Maths (essential)
  • Full, clean driving licence and car (essential)
  • Experience of coaching/teaching children between the ages of 4 - 11 (essential)
  • Level 2 Coaching qualification (desirable). Training will be offered to suitable candidates
  • Gymnastics experience (desirable)
  • Degree/HND (desirable)
  • Up to date First Aid qualification (desirable)
  • Child Protection/Safeguarding qualifications (desirable).

CONTRACT & HOURS

  • Full time, permanent contract.
  • Working hours 8am-4.45pm or 9am-5.45pm Monday-Friday - with 4 non-working-hours each week during term time
  • Laptop, clothing and coaching equipment is provided.
  • 20 days holiday to be taken during school holidays

APPRENTICESHIP MULTI SPORTS COACH

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The company currently works in over 50 primary schools and nurseries delivering close to 400 sessions each week. Our ethos is that sport and healthy living should be accessible by all. The role involves carrying out a weekly programme of multi-sports coaching sessions in primary schools throughout term time as before-school clubs, lunchtime clubs, after school clubs and holiday clubs (within school holidays).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out a weekly programme of multi-sports and gymnastics coaching sessions (pre-school / lunchtime / after-school clubs).
  • Coaching up to 30 children per class in a controlled manner without supervision.
  • Coaching a range of sports.
  • Planning progressive, thought provoking, technically correct sessions.
  • Keeping organised with registers and attendance.
  • Managing each session to ensure it runs smoothly.
  • Collecting payments and chasing debts.
  • Dealing with any disciplinary problems.
  • Advertising and marketing courses.
  • Networking with schools and building good relationships with parents.

TRAINING AVAILABLE

  • Level 2 Dodgeball Course
  • Food Hygiene
  • Paediatric First Aid Training
  • Safeguarding Training
  • Behaviour Management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 1 qualified coaching qualification (essential)
  • Prior experience of coaching (essential)
  • Driving licence and a car to drive (essential)
  • Must be confident and competent enough to run clubs unsupervised from the start
  • Strong work ethic, respectful & happy to follow instructions

CONTRACT & HOURS

  • 1-year apprenticeship contract with the option to become a full-time coach
  • Working hours 8am-4.45pm OR 9am-5.45pm Monday-Friday
  • Laptop/iPad, clothing and coaching equipment is provided
  • 20 days holiday to be taken during school holidays
  • Contract length: 12 months
  • Salary: £13,000 - £16,000 per year
